Talking Hope on air

Second Step’s Media Group continues to shine a light for good mental health and emotional wellbeing. We are a unique service in Bristol, in that our group is service user led, and run to provide a voice for people living with mental health problems.

Once again, by kind arrangement with the city’s multi-ethnic community radio station, BCfm, we will be going on air on Tuesday 19 March at 3pm.

Our hour long programme will showcase the work of Second Step’s suicide prevention project, Hope which aims to reduce the number of suicides, particularly among males. During the show we will:

  • chat to Jez from the Hope team
  • discuss how to offer help to a friend or relative experiencing a crisis
  • share stories of hope and recovery
  • and include much useful signposting.

In addition, carefully chosen uplifting music will be provided by Matt Haig, Bob Marley and others.

So, do join us if you can for this most important programme.

You can tune in to station BCfm in urban Bristol on 93.2 MHz VHF / FM, which is between BBC Radio Three and BBC Radio Four on your FM dial, or you can listen on digital DAB radio, where the station is broadcast from the Purdown tower at Stapleton.

Outside of Bristol, we will be on the webstream at www.bcfmradio.com. Finally, after the broadcast, Second Step will make the show available for podcast on Second Step’s YouTube channel.
