Changes to community mental health and wellbeing support in Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire

From 1 April 2025, there will be some changes to the providers of community mental health services across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW).

Voluntary sector services including Access Community Mental Health, Crisis Houses and Intensive Outreach will be taken on by a new partnership called the Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership made up of Second Step, alongside the national charity Alabaré, women’s mental health organisation Missing Link and Black-led mental health experts Nilaari.

Working collaboratively

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership is working closely with the current providers (Bath Mind, Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind, Rethink and Alabaré) to make the transition as smooth and supportive as possible.

The partnership will work closely with NHS community mental health services provided by Avon and Wiltshire NHS Partnership Trust (AWP) in BSW. The teams are working together to ensure people have access to the care and wider support they need.

New webpages

We are currently creating new web pages here on the Second Step website to give more details about the services and how to refer. We expect them to go live in a few days’ time.

How to get in touch

In the meantime, if you have any questions and you’re a health professional, please email us on Info.AccessCMH@second-step.co.uk and we will respond to you as quickly as possible. We will be in touch shortly with information about how to contact new providers and how to refer.

If you are currently using Access Community Mental Health services in BSW or the Intensive Outreach service, please contact your support worker or provider.
