With the festive season approaching, the Second Step Media Group is acutely aware that this time of year can bring both joy but also difficulties for some people, as many services close for the winter break, and there is time to reflect on families and past times. So, our service user led group delivered a special programme at Bristol’s multi-ethnic community radio service B.C.F.M. on Tuesday 20th November. In a packed programme, the team looked at how the principles of the “Five Ways to Wellbeing” can help build emotional resilience at this bittersweet time of year. The Five Ways are Learn, Connect, Notice, Be Active and Give. With real stories from our service users, tips and suggestions, the show also included a guide to helplines that are available through the Christmas season including the Samaritans, No Panic and the Crisis Team. Plus of course, a few select and interesting festive tracks.
The programme is available to enjoy again as a podcast at https://bcfmradio.com/wellbeing, and will be on the Second Step You Tube channel for posterity. Take a listen and share in some ideas to get through the festive season.
Second Step Media Group makes four broadcasts a year from B.C.F.M., a community access radio station that broadcasts to urban Bristol on digital DAB radio and 93.2 MHz FM. Our next programme will be in late March 2019
