Hope on the BBC
More men have contacted our suicide prevention project Hope during lockdown as the pandemic caused by Covid-19 continues to exacerbate the risks.
Earlier in the week we spoke to BBC Points West about the work we do at Hope. They spoke to Manager Marina O’Brien and also to one of our clients, Paul. You can watch a clip of the interview here at 9min 35
Hope is a unique project providing a mix of short-term emotional and practical support to middle-aged men in crisis and at risk of suicide.
Hope is an evidence-based project and had been evaluated by a team of researchers at the University of Bristol since the project began in October 2018. Their final evaluation is to be published imminently and will be shared on Second Step’s website.
You can watch Paul talking to his support worker Ezra, about his personal journey as part of our #ClientInsight campaign.
