Second Step today revealed the name for its new crisis and recovery centre due to open in Weston in Spring 2020.
It will be called the Safe Haven Centre following discussions with people who use mental health services in the area and the results of an online survey. More than 20% of people chose the name Safe Haven.
The new centre will provide a safe place for people experiencing a mental health crisis and will be open seven days a week from 6pm until midnight.
It is hope that the new centre, which is commissioned by the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, will take the pressure off A&E, the police and other local services.
