Clients of a community-based wellbeing service gave the thumbs up to a new coproduction approach last week.
On a busy Zoom call clients met with staff to talk about next steps for the North Somerset Wellbeing Service which offers wellbeing-style groups and courses to more than 200 people in the area.
Held online because of the current Covid-19 situation, the meeting was the first of its kind for a service with ambitions to reach out and support more people.
Service Manager Claire Denyer said:
“We were delighted with how it went. It was lovely to see everyone, and while it was a shame we can’t meet face to face at the moment, it was a wonderful to chance to really hear what our clients think about their service.”
The meeting discussed the recent decision to move on from the service’s base in Old Street, Clevedon, which was closed for social distancing reasons when lockdown was imposed in March.
People were supportive of the move and were keen to be part of the process to look for a more suitable venue. The new approach will ensure clients’ voices are an integral part of shaping the service. The next meeting will be held in October.
