“I’m happy to be alive and be here today, because of you guys” – our impact in 2024

We’re delighted to announce the release of our 2024 Impact Report, packed full of inspirational client stories, stats and just some of the incredible achievements of our services last year. Read the full report here.

Our Chief Executive Aileen Edwards said:

“2024 was a difficult year for so many. Our clients continued to face issues such as the cost-of-living crisis, the rise of hate crime, and the deepening housing crisis.

“With mental health services and the wider social care and housing systems under more pressure than ever before, we played a pivotal role within the system to strengthen and develop our services to ensure we’re reaching people when and where they need us.”

For this year’s Impact Report, we have chosen the theme of the Power of Prevention. We open by introducing Drew, one of our Hope Project clients whose relationship with his Hope Project worker Ezra became a turning point that helped him transform his life.

“Ezra showed me how to build back up and be confident again,” Drew said, “She made me feel safe and literally gave me back my life. No other support system has been like it, here I’ve found my confidence again. She’s inspired me to be the person I want to be.”

We’re so proud of Drew and everything he’s achieved, and we thought his story would be the perfect way to show successful early intervention and prevention can be.

From there, we visit some of our services across Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Somerset, where we work closely with our public sector and voluntary sector partners to share the positive impact people have made in their lives. We cover five key areas:

  1. Our crisis services and suicide prevention support, including the Hope Project, The Sanctuary in Bristol and Crisis Safe Space in Somerset.
  1. Our community mental health teams, including our recovery navigators’ work as part of new MINT teams which help to free up stretched GPs and triage services.
  1. Our Wellbeing Colleges in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire which support local people in their communities through the teaching and learning of psychoeducational skills.
  1. Our homelessness and complex needs services, working with people facing multiple disadvantage in Bristol and Somerset.
  1. Our community rehabilitation teams, including our out-of-area work in Bristol and Somerset.
