MINT Teams: new community based mental health hubs
The newly formed MINTs (Mental health and wellbeing Integrated Network Teams) in Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire are pioneering mental health hubs that bring together diverse expertise from various mental health professionals, including those from the voluntary sector.
These innovative teams, which are funded by the local Integrated Care Board, are designed to provide comprehensive support for adults facing a variety of mental health challenges, ensuring that every individual receives the care they need to thrive.
Personalised care plans for better outcomes
One of the core principles of the MINT teams is to offer personalised care plans. Everyone who seeks help will receive a tailored plan that addresses their unique needs, preferences, and circumstances. This approach ensures that care is not only effective but also respectful of each person's journey and aspirations.
By signposting individuals to further support when needed, the MINT teams ensure a continuum of care beyond immediate treatment, fostering long-term wellbeing and recovery.
Role of Recovery Navigators
Second Step plays a crucial role in the success of the MINT teams by employing a team of experienced Recovery Navigators. These skilled professionals are central to helping people on their recovery journey.
Recovery Navigators work closely with other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic approach to mental health care, emphasising people’s strengths and potential. Their support is invaluable in navigating the complexities of mental health recovery, providing guidance, encouragement, and practical help along the way.
A commitment to holistic care
The collaboration within the MINT teams signifies a new era of mental health support where the expertise of various professionals is integrated to provide the best possible care. This holistic approach is designed to address not just the symptoms of mental health issues but also the underlying factors that contribute to them, offering a more comprehensive and effective solution.
