Bristol City Council and partner organisations today launched a new way to help and house homeless people in the city, with Second Step taking a lead role to provide support in one of four new pathways.
The creation of four separate homeless pathways – men only, mixed, women only and accommodation for people dealing with drug and alcohol issues – will provide a simpler, more seamless journey to help people move through the different levels of supported accommodation.
Second Step will be the lead agency for the mixed pathway, providing accommodation for men and women. The new process will provide more consistency and avoid the over assessment of people.
Aileen Edwards, Second Step’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted at the streamlined approach being taken to tackle homelessness in Bristol. And we’re excited about working with our partner providers to bring more effectiveness and improved outcomes,”
